Pyrrhic Victory
Thank you for visiting Chucksville. Please Return Me to the Index of the Frugal Film Festival!
"Pyrrhic Victory" was directed and shot by my brother Michael Reuben in 9mm. It was made around 1970 or so when he was about 17 years old. This is a silent film, set to some of his favorite music, both classical and contemporary.
The film is about a man (my father, Samuel Reuben, played the part) who captures a red-tailed hawk and trains it, but then gets in trouble with the law. Michael, who was four years older than me, died in a boating accident when I was a junior in high school.
(Special thanks to my sister Shelly Reuben who turned the decaying film into a video taped format.)
