Dear Chuck,
Hey! This is AJ Beach. You recently saw me at the bus stop right on Central near Century 14. I was the kid taking photos! But the interesting thing is we first met a few years before when I was a youngster on a flight to L.A. Remember? You were telling me about your little car and how you worked for the Journal (I think?). You gave me your card! I was with my mom. I love the website by the way! Makes me appreciate good ol' New Mexico. And a while back I read what you wrote about the Cerillos mines. Send me an Email! we should meet up friend.
Your pal AJ Beach

I enjoyed reading about your trip to see the sandhill cranes. We have quite a few of those in Michigan, too.
I love the sound they make as they call flying overhead. It was good to talk with you in Pasadena.

Dear Chucky:
Thank you for the very enjoyable tour through Albuquerque and Santa Fe with you and your friends. It was so real, I thought I was going to get dizzy from the altitude, too! I can't wait to take that train some day with you and Jennifer!
Love,
Shelly

I LOVED the article about the The Trestle at Kirtland AFB! I have told my elementary age boys about the structure for several months. One of them did a 5th grade science fair project this year on magnetic levitation trains and he ran across the term "EMP". MAGLEV I knew nothing about at the time, but EMP, that really got me excited to share what I knew. I deployed there in the early 1990's and was just awestruck with the size and construction of the structure. We also were able to explore the electrical generation area and control room - mighty impressive. Probably the most interesting thing to me then were the photographs that still hung on the wall, showing a pictoral history of the items that were blasted with EMP there. Thanks for posting the article - very good stuff!

Dear Chuck:
The wonderful thing about your travel diary is that you make the reader feel as though we are riding along on your shoulder, invisible observers of your adventures. I could even smell the fire in the fireplace and feel the softness of the feather bed!
Thanks for the fascinating trip, the debates, the dances, the history lessons, the boat ride, and the memories. It was a great ride!
Shelly
